The Jeff Jarnigan YOKE Golf Classic is presented each spring by Home Federal Bank. The tournament, held at Three Ridges Golf Course, features a scramble format and prizes are awarded to the top teams as well as to winners of a long drive, closest to the pin, and putting competition. This year’s event reached a new high, raising more than $36,000 for the programs and services that YOKE provides to middle schools across 6 counties.
Jeff Jarnigan, the voice of the Tennessee Volunteers at both Neyland Stadium and Thompson Boling Arena, headlines the event each year. “I’m a supporter of YOKE because YOKE changes kids’ lives,” Jeff explained. After the loss of his father at age 12, Jeff was impacted by a personal relationship with YOKE founder and former director John Coatney, and his wife Helen. “I consider it an honor to be involved with the YOKE Golf Classic,” he added.
After a beautiful morning of competition, golfers were welcomed back to the clubhouse with lunch from F.A.T.S Barbecue, courtesy of our sponsors His Security. Taylor Gouffon, Shawn Powell, Brandon Bunn, and Ellison Fitzpatrick from the Gouffon Moving and Storage team took home top honors with an incredible 19 under par. The team from Fairview Church came in second place, only one stroke behind and Anderson Crossing Pharmacy’s team came in third. The prize for the long drive competition was captured by Brandon Bunn, while Buddy Bradley came closest to the pin. Stephen Millsaps won a free set of tires from Matlock Tire Service in the putting contest.
