The Jeff Jarnigan YOKE Golf Classic is presented each spring by Home Federal Bank. The tournament, held at Three Ridges Golf Course, features a scramble format and prizes are awarded to the top teams as well as to winners of a long drive, closest to the pin, and putting competition. This year’s event was a success, raising more than $27,000 for the programs and services that YOKE provides to middle schools across 5 counties.
Jeff Jarnigan, the voice of the Tennessee Volunteers at both Neyland Stadium and Thompson Boling Arena, headlines the event each year. “I’ve been a supporter of YOKE since it started,” Jeff explained. After the loss of his father at age 12, Jeff was impacted by a personal relationship with YOKE founder and former director John Coatney, and his wife Helen. “It’s a great organization that does do much good,” Jeff added. “I will always be a supporter of YOKE.”
After a beautiful morning of competition, golfers were welcomed back to the clubhouse with lunch from Hamburger Hill, courtesy of our sponsors SmartBank. For the second year in a row, the team from Anderson Crossing Pharmacy took home top honors while the team led by Stephen Millsaps came in third. For the first in the history of the event, our host Jeff Jarnigan led his team to a second place finish. The prize for the long drive competition was captured by Chad Bell and Chris Martin captured the putting title, draining the winning putt not once, but twice!
