This week, many of our middle school clubs are starting back up for the school year! In preparation for the kickoff of our afterschool clubs, we held Big Club in both Jefferson and Knox Counties to further leadership development and get a YOKE refresh as we go into the new school year. We sang about peeling bananas, caught diseases in a skit, had chug and crush champions, and were reminded about the heart of YOKE and why we do what we do.

Each part of a YOKE club is intentional, whether it is to create trust with the students, show that it is okay to be silly, build confidence, or strengthen their relationship with Jesus. With intentionality behind all that we do, Big Club is a chance to model how to lead each part and give tips and tricks on how to host a successful YOKE club.
Starting clubs this week has been an exciting adventure! Many of our schools have had amazing first-week turnouts! We are excited to continue to build relationships with more students as the semester progresses, and we anticipate reaching kids through our fall YOKE camp. We have had so many familiar students and are excited to have met many new students who are beginning their YOKE Kid journeys! Freshmen Future Folk are beginning to blossom in their new leadership roles as they can bond with the students in new ways, though just a few years separate them. We are excited to have 22 open YOKE clubs across Anderson, Blount, Grainger, Jefferson, and Knox counties and are hoping for even more as the school year progresses! To get things kicked off in Blount County, Eagleton’s club is starting Sept. 30th.
Please join us in prayer as we continue our mission in these schools. Pray that we can continue to find more leaders to join with us in this mission and that more students attend to hear the Gospel. Pray for continued support of our organization so we can do the Lord’s work in our corner of East Tennessee. Join us in prayer for all our YOKE family this school year!
