FALL CAMP
2024 Fall Theme is Olympic Camp!
WHAT IS CAMP?
Each Fall and Spring, YOKE groups from all over East TN gather at Camp Ba Yo Ca in Wears Valley, TN for a weekend full of fun, adventure, and all things YOKE! Our themes vary but the goal is always the same – to set the stage for YOKE students and their YOKE Folk to build deeper relationships and to help all to discover their identity and purpose in Christ!

What to Know About Camp
Students rate is $75 per person and is all-inclusive.
YOKE strives to make camp affordable for every student who wants to participate. Scholarships are available to families with financial need on a first come, first served basis. If your student would like to attend camp, but needs financial assistance, please contact the YOKE office before registering at (865) 522-6907.
All meals, supplies, lodging, snacks, and lots of fun is included! There is an opportunity to buy a YOKE shirt for $10 during registration and at camp. The Camp Store will be open briefly for Camp Ba Yo Ca gear, but that is the only reason a student would want to bring money to camp.
Bus transportation is provided for all students. You will find your school’s bus location and time on your registration confirmation email. We utilize a reputable, local school bus company to provide transportation.
You will pick your student up at the same location as drop-off. See your confirmation email for Sunday pick-up times as they vary by location.
We don’t know until registration closes, but YOKE’s goal is to maintain a ratio of one leader per six students. This ensures each student gets personalized attention as well as maintains a safe environment for all the fun!
While camp is a big event, students are with their YOKE group from their school the majority of the time. They may be linked with other groups based on numbers of students for games and lodging, but will always be in proximity to at least one of their YOKE Folk. Lodging is divided by gender and school group. We encourage students to make new friends within their school groups as well as with others schools during their camp experience!
If your student would like to attend camp but has an unavoidable conflict that weekend, please email madjoel@yokeyouth.com to request a late arrival/early departure. If the student can be present for a majority of the weekend, and the parent is willing to provide transportation, we are usually able to accommodate special requests.
Camp is NOT cell-phone friendly, which sets a great stage for interaction and fun for students throughout the weekend! If there is an emergency or you need to contact YOKE staff during camp, you can call Camp Ba Yo Ca at 865-453-6274. Messages on that line are checked regularly throughout the day. You may also email madjoel@yokeyouth.com which may render a quicker response.
We know every family and student is different and for some, YOKE Camp may be a first time away from home. YOKE leaders and staff receive training on how to help students enjoy their time at camp, even if being away is uncomfortable for them. Home sickness is very normal, especially for 6-8th graders, so we are mindful of that as we design our weekend. You can trust that your student will feel loved and cared for throughout the weekend – we’ve seen students thrive in this environment time and time again! Often, it can be a confidence-building time for students who feel anxiety about being away – God meets them where they are. You are welcome to share any issues with your student’s YOKE Folk ahead of camp for extra awareness.
YOKE Camp involves LOTS of food around the clock – three solid meals and late night snacks (more like a 4th meal) keep them fueled up for all the fun! Please make sure to note any allergies on the registration form. If allergies limit your student’s diet (gluten-free, etc.), call YOKE at (865) 522-6907 to discuss your student’s particular need. Please note that not all food needs can be accommodated, and you might need to send food with your child. Notify the YOKE staff if you plan to do this.
