A few weeks ago YOKE was at Camp Ba Yo Ca again for our annual middle school summer camp. We had over 60 children from Knox, Blount, Anderson, and Jefferson counties participate in M-Camp. Most of the students are already involved with our YOKE clubs, but some were not, giving us the opportunity to expand our influence even further. We had 12 YOKE Folk who also decided to give up a week of their summer to come and be counselors for camp. And many of those who couldn’t be at camp the whole week stopped by to say hey and hang out with their YOKE students for an evening. Old friendships were solidified, and new friendships blossomed. YOKE students made friends with students from other schools and even other counties. They made friends with YOKE Folk from other schools. Likewise, our YOKE Folk established new relationships with students as well as with each other and other Camp Ba Yo Ca staff!
Perhaps most importantly six new relationships with Jesus were begun at camp this summer. Several more students decided to renew their relationships with Christ. Overall, the week was marked by new and renewed relationships.
YOKE is very excited about the relationships that will continue to deepen over the summer and what will result in the fall when school starts back. We are already looking ahead to the fall and planning for clubs and camps. Now is a good time to begin praying for the 2014-15 school year!
