The ministry of YOKE is helping to transform the communities in which we serve through four primary areas of impact – mentoring middle school students, equipping college leaders, engaging local churches and impacting local schools. In previous posts we demonstrated how YOKE is helping to transform middle school students, our YOKE Folk, and even the ministries of local churches. When you put all of these together, YOKE has tremendous potential to help transform the culture of our local schools as well.

The relationship that YOKE enjoys with local schools involves more than simply using their space for our after school clubs. It really is a partnership. As an after school club, YOKE has a teacher sponsor at each school. Our team works closely with these sponsors, as well as with the administration at each school, to choose a day and a time for the club that best meets the school’s needs. Throughout the school year, teachers and administrators readily come to us for help with projects, events or special needs. They recommend students to YOKE and often point out students who need extra attention. Sometimes, when a crisis arises, we are among the first people that they call.

Here’s one story of how YOKE is helping to transform our local schools.
